The fake CSIS malware

These days a new malware is doing rounds on the internet. It shows this scary CSIS screen on infected computer asking to pay a fine of $100 through some internet payment system because it claims the computer was used to visit pornographic websites.

The user cannot get past the screen or run any other software on the computer while it remains infected with this malware.

If you encounter this problem, don't panic. All the warnings are fake. To remove this malware first start the computer in SAFE MODE. (See how to start your computer in safe mode on Microsoft Windows Knowledge Base) Once in safe mode, use System Restore to restore your computer to the date when it worked properly. After the restore is complete scan your computer for any malware with a good anti-malware like malware bytes. Download malware bytes here.
